The guy sounded quite charming and introduced himself as Cyril, his voice was lovely and a bit raspy. I had to tell him that my mouse Gonsh already keeps me company, so I wasn’t looking for any more animals. Funny enough, I was munching on a beef burger when the call came through. When I’m not busy with calls like that, I usually catch the cricket at my nearby car wash, all cosy in my wool jumper.

They rang me claiming I’d overpaid a loan from before 2011 - which is a joke because I actually bank with the same bank I work at, and if that was true, my account manager would’ve mentioned it. I told them off with plenty of swearing and made it clear to never call me again.

I’ve been getting constant calls from this company called Reactive Media, and it’s been such a stressful experience. When my wife was going through her cancer diagnosis, they started ringing our landline like 4 or 5 times a day. If you put your number on the TPS register, the calls should stop, but if they keep bothering you, make sure to report them to TPS. They actually got fined £50,000 for calling people who are signed up with TPS. Even though they got in trouble, their persistent calls really upset my wife and brought her to tears. I just picked up a call from this number. The guy started going on about me supposedly paying too much on some finance, but I told him I’ve never had any finance at all. Then he asked if I’d taken out a bank loan, and when I said no, he just ended the call. Weird.

Got a caller pestering me about some kind of overpayment. At first I assumed it was about tax, but then thought why would they ask for info when the money usually just turns up? I mentioned to the guy I was in hospital about to get some treatment, but he didn’t seem bothered at all and just kept saying, "I only need a few details, you’re owed this overpayment, it’s unfortunate." After that I just ended the call!

TIP for anyone: i always put these numbers under names like annoying call 1 ppi or annoying call 2 loans, so when they call again i know who it is, and i can decide if i wanna pick up and mess with them or just ignore. these calls are a pain and really should be outlawed, and whoever’s selling our details to them, if that even happens, should get a big fine.

I’ve asked them repeatedly to quit ringing me since they got my details without asking, and told them if they don’t stop, I’ll be taking this to court. About ten minutes after that, they called again, so I just let it go to voicemail. They keep calling all day long, and I’ve got two kids to look after, so there’s no way I’m picking up these dodgy numbers. They claim I owe money from 2001 or 2003, but I was still at school back then, so there’s no way that’s right.

They claimed I was owed money because the bank supposedly charged me extra and said they could help recover it. Then they asked if I’d ever taken out a small loan back in "2009, 2010, or 2011." It sounds convincing, but it’s definitely a scam. I actually work at a big bank, and we would never use a random company to handle stuff like that. Don’t waste your time with them.

I got a ring from this number just now, they said something about PCI claims based in Manchester. Didn’t pick up so I’m not sure what it was all about. I use this app called TRUE CALLER on my mobile and it shows the name of whoever’s trying to reach you. Bit suspicious, could it be a scam?

Had a ring from these lot earlier today. They kept blabbering about some refund linked to a car loan. I told them a handful of times I don't even drive and I've never held any accounts with the banks they kept naming. Got a call earlier today (7th April 2015) from a guy who said it was about an overpayment for someone with a name. First, he asked if I was that person, but I asked who was calling instead. Then he just said something about an overpayment department and hung up straight away. They even got the name wrong anyway.

I said yes, then she just ended the call. By the way, I’ve been job hunting recently and putting my number on my CV. Could it be that some job sites are sharing personal details without telling us?

Got a call from this number, which my phone said was from Manchester. The woman sounded like she was in some sort of call centre. She claimed to be from Consumer Care Centre and asked if she could speak to me by name. Then she told me she was calling about an overpayment I supposedly made on credit before 2011, wanting to sort out repayment. She also said the call was being recorded for my protection. She asked for my date of birth to confirm she had the right person. I said I wasn’t expecting this and didn’t know who she was, so no way was I giving my DOB. Suddenly the call just cut off. It all felt really dodgy and suspicious.

They told me I had paid too much on a loan. I told them I never took out a loan but wondered how they got my details. They emailed me back saying they got my info from a trustworthy finance firm. They said I’d need to make a Subject Access Request to find out where exactly it came from. Bit of a hassle but the person on the phone was quite polite, actually.
