Some bloke called saying he was from Haringey council, claiming they’d cleared the pathway outside my place or something, but I’m not sure what he was on about. I never handed my landline to the council, so how on earth did he even get hold of my number? Bit suspicious if you ask me.

The caller had a strong Asian accent, maybe from Pakistan or India. They claimed to be calling on behalf of the National Health Services - not the NHS though - and said they wanted to do a survey. They didn’t talk about Covid or any vaccines. I never take part in phone surveys, so I just blocked the number.

Got a call claiming to be from the NHS Covid helpline. First they asked if I’d had all my vaccines and booster, then quizzed me about any side effects I might have experienced. After that, they wanted to know if I was using the NHS app, and if not, why. Then they mentioned something about my Covid forms saying I had life or health insurance, which felt really dodgy. That’s when I clocked it was a scam and told them I’m on the TPS list. I warned them that if they called again, I’d be reporting them to the National Fraud Investigation Bureau. They hung up straight away after that.

Just had a call from a man with an Asian accent claiming he was ringing from the NHS. He asked if I’d had all my covid vaccinations and whether my vaccine card had come through yet. I told him I hadn’t received anything, and he said it should show up within 14 days. Then he tried to find out who I had my life insurance with. I told him that’s not NHS business. He insisted it was needed to update their records. Definitely felt like a scam to me.

I received a similar call recently, purporting to be from the NHS, inquiring whether I’d had my vaccinations. The chap then veered off to ask about my life insurance, and rather than hanging up and leaving some poor dear vulnerable, I decided to push back a bit. I probed him on the necessity of sharing that information, to which he claimed it was to update their system and, should I unfortunately contract Covid, I would receive compensation through my insurer. I challenged him on that, as I only hold standard life cover, not anything related to illness. His tone was rather patronising, as he kept insisting he was from 'THE NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE, MA'AM.' I told him I already had the app with all my details, and he had the audacity to call me by my maiden name, which isn’t even registered there! I told him that I wasn't assured of his legitimacy and that my discomfort with sharing information should be respected. They seem particularly keen on identifying your insurer during these calls, so be sure not to divulge such details!
