I've been getting calls from 0161 532 311x lately. When I picked up a couple of times, the callers said they were from either Citizen Advice or about Covid-19 benefits. When I asked questions, they either got rude or just hung up. Since then, I just don’t pick up and block the numbers. It all kicked off after I rang 111 once. I’ve noticed quite a few folks mentioning they get these sort of calls after contacting 111 too. Seems like the NHS is handing over your details to companies that want them.

This morning I noticed two missed calls from this number. They rang me once more later in the day, so I picked up. The guy said he was from Citizens Advice, but I just chuckled and told him it sounded like a scam. He denied it and then ended the call. This is the third time I’ve had a ring in just a few days, asking if I’ve had my booster and if I experienced any side effects. Then they suddenly switch to asking about my life insurance and which firm I’m with. Complete scam! They masqueraded as being connected to the NHS and claimed they were acting on the government's behalf! They assured me a letter would arrive in the next couple of days, mentioning something about a survey and insisting they weren’t trying to sell anything. Got a phone call from a woman claiming she was ringing from some debt help organisation, insisting I owed money. Thing is, she couldn’t actually say how much I supposedly owed - probably because I don’t actually have any debts. Then she went on about how my debt supposedly added up to more than £5000, with payments of £100 each month over five years. When I wouldn’t confirm any details or answer her security questions, her attitude suddenly shifted and she got a bit cold.

Things got weird when I told her she’d called me and so I wouldn’t just give out my full name or dob, but I’d confirm if she was right. She then asked how old I was and got quite cheeky, saying I didn’t sound my age or something like that. Then she rang me back twice more in less than a minute. Pretty odd behaviour if you ask me!
