I received a rather dubious call from someone who claimed to work at Curry's PC World. This person, claiming to be named Christina, was peddling a Samsung Galaxy S12 at an unbelievably low price. I asked her to repeat her name and then asked for her date of birth to verify who she was. She just said sorry and when I asked again for the DOB to confirm, she abruptly hung up. Received a call purportedly from EE, claiming to offer promotions and discounts. The chap’s voice was barely audible, droning on about iPhones (which I have no interest in, frankly - far too pricey). I missed most of what he said. I mentioned that I was with EE and supposedly entitled to some network perks, but the truth is I’m with an EE MVNO. He promptly hung up. The gentleman spoke with a thick accent from the Indian subcontinent. I’m well aware that my MVNO doesn't utilise any call centres abroad, and I highly doubt EE does either, so I've marked this as a scam.
