I mentioned that I hadn't been involved in any mishap, yet the person on the line, who had quite a strong Indian accent, kept persisting. I live in Bedford and got a call from a bloke who brought up landlords and housing groups. He claimed I’d rung about issues like damp in my house, which I definitely never did. To his credit, he did say sorry when he realised he got it wrong! :) The call went on for about 1 minute 40 seconds, and most of the time I was asking him to say things again because I couldn’t catch what he was on about. Something to do with houses, I suppose.

From what I read, they try to convince you to send photos of any damage and promise to help sort things out. But then they ask for your insurance info, your full name, and DOB. This isn’t just spam calls, it’s a proper scam.

What a right nuisance! I’m not sure if it’s a dodgy scammer or just a builder, clearly in need of a job, trying to drum up some business. How are you? So much for their spiel about damp issues...mentioning housing associations and landlords like I’m some sort of tenant! I own my property, for goodness’ sake-what on earth was that about? When he claimed I’d reported structural issues, I had to laugh, as I’ve had no such concerns. He quickly backtracked and offered a half-hearted apology! Quite amusing, really.
