Some bloke said he was with the ‘Food House Company’ or something like that - hard to catch with the dodgy signal and all the crackling on the line, plus the language barrier didn’t help. He was going on about unlimited minutes and texts for £30 a month. I had to stop him when I mentioned it was a work phone contract. Weird how he even got my number!

Received a phone call from someone claiming to be with 'Food House Company.' They were touting a deal for unlimited calls and texts at the rate of £30 a month. Quite baffling, to be honest, as I've no clue how they acquired my number, considering it’s for a business mobile.

I recently had a rather dodgy experience with someone claiming to be from Carphone Warehouse, now rebranded as Currys. They tried to persuade me that I had a phone contract with them, which I knew was complete nonsense. It’s a classic con, and I've heard others mention it too, so I’d strongly advise people to be wary. If Carphone Warehouse-or should I say Currys-actually reach out to you, they'll make it clear that it's them calling. Don't fall for this trickery!

I just had a similar encounter, you know? They called me up, inquiring whether I was interested in a brand new iPhone. Then they wanted to know who my current provider was and which phone I was using. I told them I was quite content with my device as it stands, and just like that, they disconnected the call! Quite the cheek, if you ask me.

my internet had only been live for half an hour and the phone connected to the router when i got a call claiming to be from openreach about some security issue, saying other people were using my connection! the guy sounded like he was following a script and when i interrupted him, he just kept going. sounded like he was calling from a call centre, maybe in india given the strong asian accent. when i asked how he could prove he was from openreach, he ignored me and carried on. apparently if it wasnt fixed, my internet would get cut off in 24 hours. i just ended the call.
