Its pretty strange how these scammers use phone numbers you can actually ring back, I notice its always the exact same group contacting me every day. They seem to genuinely believe they’re just doing a regular job and that we’re the problem for trying to stop them making money. Its mad, they act like we’re being the bad guys for getting in the way of their dodgy “business”.

Got a call from them just now. Saw some good posts earlier today and the other day about trying to catch these scammers. Think I might give it a go soon. It’s about time someone steps up instead of just complaining on here. If thousands of people called them back, that’d make a difference. Also, reporting every scam call and dodgy email to 'Action Fraud' and letting your local MP know will really push for proper action. MPs tend to take notice and get back to you if you ask nicely and explain what’s going on clearly.

This number tried ringing me a couple of times before 9:15 this morning, but I’d already blocked it from before so my phone never even buzzed. They can keep having a go all they like, but they won’t get through! It’s so frustrating that nothing seems to stop these scam calls. Once someone flags a number, these huge phone companies should just cut them off, right? Also, why do they even hand out numbers that end up with scammers without properly checking first? It’s beyond annoying!

These crooks are on the clock all day, every day, and the only way to annoy them is to keep calling back using auto redial apps or just wasting their time. They’ve been at it nonstop for nearly a year, and honestly, the police or Action Fraud won’t do anything about it. Every single day there’s thousands of folks they try to scam, but if more of us dial them back, we might actually make a difference. Don’t sit around waiting for official help. One person can shake things up by taking matters into their own hands.

I ended up reporting it to action fraud, as I reckon it’s the only way for the police to stay informed and monitor how bad these scams are getting. It’s scary hearing about older folks losing tens of thousands from their bank accounts to these overseas scammers. Definitely better to report these calls whenever you get them.

Totally daft scammers, proper thick as two planks. Best thing is to just block them straight away, though they'll probably ring again from some other number before long. If you’re feeling a bit bored, mess about with them - play along, then burp, sing a silly tune or have a laugh poking fun at them. Whatever happens, don’t stress it. Got a call from someone called 'William Spencer' warning me not to hang up or my solicitor has to step in, otherwise there’ll be serious trouble. Really comforting message, right? Glad to see loads of folks here spotting these scam attempts. Tried blocking the caller but it just comes up as 'no number' on my phone, so can’t actually block it despite them leaving a number in the voicemail. Classic money scam, no doubt about it!

Just got a call from this number saying I owed £3900 for personal tax, or else it’d be £19,000 in legal costs. Honestly, it was so stressful. These awful scumbags really need to be put to an end. They’re seriously the worst kinds of people, no scruples at all, proper sociopaths. They should be locked up for good!

This wasn’t HMRC nor connected to Manchester. Make sure to report it here and over at 'Action Fraud'. I’d also suggest dropping an email to your MP about this scam and any other dodgy calls you receive. Ask them what the government’s doing to tackle foreign criminals who use UK phone lines to pass on untraceable calls and scam people, especially the vulnerable. Also, question why there aren’t more warnings out there for the public. I got a reply eventually, but trust me, you’ll need to keep pestering several MPs before anything worthwile happens to curb this problem.

I got a call like this not long ago, weirdly it showed up right after I was trying to log into my steam account. About half a year ago someone got into my ebay account and I saw a one-time ebay pin sent from 07781470659, which was odd. Now, that same number just texted me a pin for a gaming account. No clue who to report this number too, but I’m pretty sure it’s connected to those awful robo HMRC calls as well.

I just got this call and rang the police right away. They told me it was definitely a scam. If anyone else gets called by them, I'd say contact your local police station so they can look into it properly.

Got a missed call and a voicemail from some bloke claiming to be from HMRC. He told me to ring back a certain number linked to his department, warning that if I didn’t, I’d end up dealing with their solicitors and legal trouble.
