Got a recorded call from some American officer called Rachel Todd, saying I owed urgent tax money and had to pay straight away. It’s so ridiculous I almost want to ring back just to have a bit of fun taking the mick.

Got the usual rubbish left on my voicemail again. I called the number back, sure it was one of those scams. Some bloke called Ben picked up claiming to be from HMRC. I just said “Really?” He seemed confused and asked “What?” I replied, “You don’t sound legit at all. Not falling for your dumb scam, now buzz off!” 😂😂 pathetic lot. FYI, the number was 02039848872.

Got a voicemail from someone called Rachel Todd from HMRC on 0161 509 6099, but the voice sounded totally robotic. When I rang back, some bloke asked if I had a criminal lawyer to “handle my excuses” for tax debts. I couldn’t help but chuckle, and then he snapped at me, calling me ignorant and warning I’d be arrested any minute! Honestly, the guy was so rude it was almost funny, but I guess it’d be pretty frightening if you didn’t know it was a scam.

Got a phone call with some robotic voice that sounded like it was made by someone who barely knows how to speak properly. I swear, whoever came up with that robotic message has got no clue. Saying stuff like "the matter is very urgent" and threatening "if you don’t ring back or have your lawyer do it, you’ll face legal trouble" sounds nothing like a proper HMRC employee.
