I got a call from 01615190767, someone claiming they were from HMRC. They said I had unpaid taxes and even mentioned my old address and full name. But I know HMRC have my new address, so it sounded fishy right away. I called them back three times, and each time the amount they said I owed changed. I ended up reporting it to the Action Fraud folks.

Got a call from some bloke with a posh accent saying he was from Peter Dunn’s office. He wrapped up by warning me to “prepare for legal action.” Bit dodgy if you ask me.

This person called "Annie" rang our work claiming she was with HMRC, telling us we had a £5000 debt and had 45 minutes to pay or the cops would show up and we'd be facing 5 years in jail!! Complete con, we don't owe anything, she couldn't give any info about a case or where it was, and got really rude when we asked questions! Stay clear of these scammers and make sure to report them to the genuine HMRC.

When I asked why I hadn’t received any formal letters or notifications, he couldn’t really give a proper answer. I just had a rather alarming call from this number. An Asian-accented woman was on the line, claiming that I had an unpaid tax bill of more than £30. She warned me that if I didn't settle it, the amount could shoot up to a staggering £24,000 if it went to court! Strangely, all she requested was my postcode, yet she had the name of the previous owner of my phone number. After delivering her rehearsed spiel, she abruptly asked if I had any queries and then hung up. Apparently, it was from the Inland Revenue. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!
