Got a call from a woman named Jane, said I’d talked to someone called Marissa about a funeral plan. I asked when it was and she said the 19th at 17:05. That’s odd cause I’m working at that time. These blasted scammers really need catching and given a serious punishment.

Somebody rang me asking to confirm my name that they said they had, but I didn’t wanna give it out. They asked again to confirm, still no from me. The lady said her name was Julie. Then they said "oh, wrong number" and just hung up.

Bloody sales lot - got a text off this landline number or something?? Saying they couldn't chat at the mo, making it sound like I called them! Bet they’ll ring back later if I don’t pick up, but I’ve blocked 'em now. I’m just over 50, is it cos of my age?? Cos I’m fairly sharp and know what’s going on.

Didn't answer as the number looked weird, but had a look on this site later. I’ll block it anyway, though I doubt it'll make much difference since scammers just switch to another fake number. Honestly, blocking tools need to get better to actually stop these sorts of calls.

Honestly fed up with this lot calling me like 4 or 5 times daily, even after I blocked them they still find a way to drop voicemails.

Got called like 5 times today, finally picked up. They were trying to push some funeral plan thing that I apparently showed interest in. Complete nonsense! The lady knew my first name and claimed they don’t do cold calls. I told her I’d report them and then blocked the number. Feels like these folks are working from their own homes on commission, so probably other numbers might ring with the same spiel.

Once you hit a certain age, the odd calls just seem to never stop. It’s like these dodgy callers have some secret hotline! HUGE thanks to call blacklist - they don’t stand a chance getting through to me now. My phone doesn’t even ring, calls get blocked immediately. I also add their numbers to my phone’s block list, so once again, they can’t reach me. Brilliant! At least they’re wasting their cash and not mine!

Received a call regarding a funeral plan. They knew my first name.

Got a call on my mobile from someone who claimed her name was Suzy and spoke like she knew me personally, using my first name straight away. I told her I didn’t know anyone called Suzy. Turns out she wasn’t actually an acquaintance but said I’d reached out about a funeral plan. I denied it and told her I wasn’t interested. She kept trying to get me to hear her sales pitch. After a bit, I told her again to stop calling and to remove me from their list. Now I’ve blocked the number.

somebody called asking for the person who lived here before me, using just his first name. he hasn’t lived here in like 10 years. the caller was way to casual like they really knew him. watch out for this.

They just called me too, but I didn’t pick up. I rarely pick up 0161 or 0202 numbers without having a quick look here first - smart tip from the person who left a comment back in 2017. (The lady sounded nice though.)

it was one of those ppi claim firms. the lady was quite polite but the call quickly turned into a hard sell. she started off friendly then just cut me off. being polite doesn’t mean you have to take it! blocked the call but they keep using loads of different numbers, some starting 0202 from london too. i’m constantly blocking these calls yet my number clearly gets passed around. my tip? look up the number on here first then just block if it looks dodgy.
