Earlier today, I received a call from a gentleman with a pronounced Indian accent, and he jumped straight into threats without any pleasantries. He claimed I would be facing jail time if I didn’t play along with his demands. It’s all a complete charade, really!

Got a call on my mobile earlier today, just kept buzzing repeatedly. Didn’t pick up since I was driving, plus I don’t know anyone from Manchester at all. After a short pause of about 5 seconds, it started up ringing again, probably around a dozen times straight. Bit odd ‘cause usually call centres tend to ring a few times and then hang up. Seems like another blocked number, according to what I’ve read here.

I had a feeling this was one of those HMRC scams, so I decided to ring back to get my number taken off their list. At first, they kept cutting me off like three times when I called them out on it. Eventually, when I actually managed to speak to someone, they started swearing at me and wouldn’t remove me from their calls. Honestly, the easiest thing is just to block them and let the real HMRC know about it.

Got a call just now from what sounded like HRMC but turned out to be some dodgy scam from Pakistan trying to nab your personal info. Be careful folks!
