I received a pre-recorded message informing me that an arrest warrant was being issued for tax evasion and fraud. Strangely, instead of addressing me by name, it simply said "your name." The message claimed to be from Linda White at HMRC, so I called the number back, but it went to voicemail. After a second attempt, I was connected to a chap with an Australian accent who mumbled something about needing my case number and name. I was baffled and told him that I didn’t have a case number, especially given that their voicemail was so poorly done and didn’t even mention my name correctly! I asked him who he was, as he seemed really suspect. I certainly wasn’t about to provide him with any of my personal details. He ended up hanging up on me. What a complete scam! Do these people really think we’re gullible? Hopefully, I won’t hear from them again.
