It’s worth noting that it’s certainly not us making those calls-this is merely a residential line. What you're experiencing is likely a nuisance from an overseas call centre attempting to gather information about utilities or similar matters. The number displaying as 001614372376 appears to have caused some confusion: it seems the UK systems drop the initial '0', resulting in our number showing up when you dial 1471. This suggests the calls may originate from the Internet, with the signal somehow getting rerouted to UK landlines, which in turn manipulates the Caller Line Identity (CLI), something I deem quite misleading. I have already alerted my network provider (BT), along with OpenReach, ICO, TPS, DMA, and Watchdog; however, there is still no resolution in sight. If you don’t have a specific individual in mind that you're trying to reach with this number, please refrain from returning the call. It's advisable to block this number on your phone if possible. We’ve been inundated with over a hundred calls in just the past few days from these 'scammers', with some feedback suggesting they may be operating from India or Africa. I sincerely apologise for any frustration this may have caused-rest assured, it is not a matter of our doing. Please do inform your phone service provider about this issue. And just a word of warning: don’t engage with calls from 00161...., as some recipients have reported particularly rude and aggressive behaviour from those on the other end. The callers seem to be involved in a possible form of Direct Marketing related to Electricity, Gas, or Financial services.

I received a call from a chap with a heavy accent, claiming to represent Home Energy and conducting a survey. It was rather unclear whether he was attempting to sell something or merely gathering information. Honestly, I’m beyond caring if they’ve got my number; I’m just thoroughly exasperated trying to dodge these nuisances. I’ve set my phone to divert all unknown, withheld, or unfamiliar calls straight to the voicemail-if the number's not popping up, they’re left having a chat with my machine. Every now and then, I indulge in a bit of amusement and waste their time instead, enjoying the spectacle of making them repeat themselves multiple times. There’s absolutely no chance I'd ever divulge any genuine information or personal details to a random caller like that.
