Some bloke with an Indian accent claimed he worked for a computer license firm. He asked if I was in, but I told him I wasn’t at home. After that, he just blocked me. Bit odd really.

Some bloke with an Indian accent kept insisting my computer was in danger, wouldn’t accept a refusal for an answer. Ended up having to let him hear some racing sounds just to get him off the phone.

Some bloke from India called me, insisting he was from Microsoft Security. He claimed my PC was leaking messages that showed it’d been hacked and all my personal info was at risk. Tried to get me to connect and show the problem, but I wasn’t anywhere near my laptop at the time. Then he rattled off some long code he said was the licence number, but later said the licence was under the name listed next to my number in the directory - the thing is, that guy’s been dead for like 50 years, so obviously his info was all wrong.

I found it a bit amusing when a man with an Indian accent rang me up and said, “Hello, this is Sean Davies from BT Broadband. We’ve noticed an issue with your computer and need your permission to fix it right away. Are you at your computer now?” I replied, “Is this really the best work you could find? I’d expect someone with decent schooling wouldn’t spend their time ringing random people, fibbing and trying to trick them into handing over access to their devices.” He promptly ended the call.

So this bloke starts off with “Buenos Tardes,” right? Then straight away he goes into that classic “Hi, I’m Roger from Microsoft” scam line. When I called him out for trying to con me, he just got all flustered and kept sighing like he didn’t know what to say next. Total scammer for sure.

For two mornings straight, around 7:26 and then 8:00, I ignored calls from this number. After a quick search on Google, turns out it's just another scam.

Over the past day, I got four calls from this number - two were just silent and the other two said they were from Microsoft security. When I told the bloke that I didn’t want these calls and they were likely breaking the phone rules, he got really rude and even started threatening me. He also said I’d have to pay for the call, which seems dodgy. I’m planning to block this Manchester number now. Proper scary to think there are nasty types out there trying to trick vulnerable folks like this.

I got a call yesterday at 4:16 pm, but we weren’t home and there wasn’t even a voicemail left. It’s happened more than once now. Thankfully, my BT 8600 with the call blocking feature filters these calls out pretty well. Honestly, buying that thing was one of the smartest moves I’ve made.

Over the past three days, I've had 2 or maybe 3 calls on my landline. One was around 4pm and the person claimed they were from Microsoft asking about who owns the PC here. The other two were silent - one came through at about 7:30 in the morning and the other just after midday at 12:32. Sounds like they might be calling from somewhere near Wythenshawe in Manchester or Heald Green around Stockport. Since it’s a landline, BT must have records on who actually holds this number.

Got a call from someone named Raj claiming to be from "Microsoft". I’ve had loads of these dodgy calls from supposed "Microsoft Support" before, so I know exactly what they're up to. Didn’t have the patience to mess about, so I just told him to jog on and ended the call straight away.

This bloke called me claiming he was from Microsoft, threatening to lock down my computer because apparently, I was breaking some data law. I asked him to prove it by sending me a letter, but he obviously refused, so I knew straight away it was a scam. Honestly, it's infuriating that people think they can just scam others like that. They should get a proper job instead of trying to scare folks. Does anyone know how to report these conmen?

On Thursday 22nd March 2018 at about 3:35pm, I got called by some persistent scammer from Asia. They keep switching up their fake numbers and come up with all sorts of made-up stories. Seriously, how many folks do they ring daily? They just don’t quit, really nasty people. Don’t bother calling them back, never share any details or say yes to anything they ask.

I twigged right away that it was a dodgy call, so I shouted at him over the phone, "Do you realise what time it is?" Got a call from this number around 8:40am today. A bloke answered saying "good afternoon" (bit odd for the morning!) and claimed he was Jack from Microsoft Office. When I asked how he got my number, he just cut me off. Loads of folks seem to be getting calls like this. Why don’t the police or whoever step in? Just got a call a bit after 8 in the morning from this very pushy bloke insisting I switch on my computer immediately, saying it was at risk of being hacked. I got a call at 8.15 this morning from a bloke with a rough voice claiming to be from Microsoft. When I asked what Microsoft was, he sounded annoyed and said "the biggest company worldwide," then just cut me off. A mate of mine had a similar ring about his broadband last week, but he wasn’t taken in. He told me his next-door neighbour got the same call at about the same time and believed it was legit. Luckily, when the caller asked for a money transfer, the neighbour sussed it out and ended the call. Could have been risky with the cash involved.
