I've come across what seems to be an energy scam of sorts - a rather dodgy automated voice purporting to be from an energy firm, stating they’re conducting some kind of energy assessments. Quite the nuisance, really!

I picked up and there was just silence on the other end.

phoned what I thought was a business, no one answered so I said hello a couple of times. then a voice came on askin if I was there. after that, they went straight into saying they were my energy company and asking if I live there. I told them flat out that they’d got the serviced offices, not a home, and they cut me off immediately.

Got a call from a very polite woman with a proper English accent claiming to be from my energy supplier, even used a local number that matches my area. But when I asked her for my own address and postcode, she couldn’t give me a straight answer. Then as soon as I tried to get her to say the name of the energy company, the line just cut off.
