So this number popped up, looked like it was from Manchester, and sure enough the lady on the phone had a proper Manc accent. She claimed she was calling about some local community issues. I told her straight up I don’t bother with phone surveys. She then tried to persuade me, saying it’d help get my opinions across to my MP. I just had to chuckle at that, considering my MP tends to block anyone who disagrees with him. After a bit of back and forth, she finally realised I wasn’t interested and hung up.

I've had to block them now, they keep ringing me every single day.

This number has been calling me on my mobile pretty much every day this week. I don’t pick up since I’m convinced it’s some kind of scam or a pushy sales call. Definitely don’t know who it is.

They started off asking for my mum’s name since the phone contract was in her name before. Pretty obvious they’re buying info from phone providers or something. Didn’t really get a chance to find out what the call was about though.

I didn't catch the call initially, so I rang back. A voicemail with a distinct American accent came on, saying something like "your info is being processed and it could take up to two working days. You’ll get an email once your number’s ready to use."

I received a call purporting to be from the council regarding housing association tenancies. Interestingly, I had a similar conversation from another number just the day before, with the exact same details.
