Just like others have said, it was a woman with an Asian accent, speaking in very broken English, and you could hear loads of noise in the background like some call centre. She was fishing for my personal details, and kept insisting she wasn’t a scam! I hung on the call but gave her made-up info, which really annoyed her. A woman said she was from ‘AVIVa and a bunch of other firms’ about my life insurance supposedly needing renewal. I told her straight up it sounded like a scam. She got really mad! I ended the call. Then she rang again! Didn’t answer that time. Proper pushy behaviour. She asked if I was from Nigeria, so maybe that’s where they’re ringing from?

Not sure who rang, but I got a call on my mobile at 1.27pm (4/5) when I was tied up, so didn’t answer. Glad I missed it, as I’ve just seen on here it’s a Life Insurance scam. I’m going to report it to the BBC so they can take action since there’s been loads of warnings on the Morning Live show and Rip off Britain about scammers trying to get your info. I can share the BBC email if anyone wants it. I’ve also reported it to my local MP in Parliament.

This caller brought up insurance and claimed to be from a centre based in Manchester, though I find that highly questionable. When I informed them that I now reside in Spain and that insuring me in the UK is impossible, they insisted otherwise. Truth be told, they can insure me, but should the need arise, they'd probably wriggle out of a payout! (I've verified this through proper channels, not some random bloke who just happened to ring me!) He then transferred me to his supervisor, who persistently bellowed my first name while I attempted to get a word in edgewise. It was an emphatic "bye Felicia" from me before I hung up… and promptly blocked the number.

Received a call from this number earlier today. When I inquired about how they obtained my number, they concocted a rather absurd explanation that was completely nonsensical. It seemed to be some sort of life insurance con, but bizarrely, they didn't even bother to address me by name. They clearly weren’t making too much of an effort.
