They claimed to be from some credit investigation company. When I asked why they were ringing me, they said it was because I requested it! I told them I never asked for any calls and asked for the reason again. Then he started saying they’d sign me up to their plan and I’d get my money back. I said no thanks, but he told me they would keep calling from loads of different numbers so I couldn’t block them all!

Debt Help For Me is the firm I was directed to by CAB. I now have an IVA set up with them & they’re fantastic. Really easy to get hold of and super helpful all the way through.

Watch out for calls from "consumer direct" or accident management firms pretending to be well-known shops or job agencies. They’re trying to trick you! Never share your details with them!!!

Debt help offers. I’ve gotten loads of calls from this number and others like it. When I finally answered, the lady wouldn’t say what company she was with, said it was confidential. She wanted me to confirm who I was first, but if you don’t tell me your company, I’m not giving my name. I hung up, rang back, got the company name, then hung up again. Planning to give them a taste of their own medicine with some cold calls. Like Lee Evans said, I’m spartacus!

Not sure who it is - I keep gettin’ calls with no details and when I answer, it’s just 'unavailable'. I’ve blocked the number and 121 as well (loads of blank calls), but all day I’m getting texts saying 10 x 121 messages waiting. This started after I clicked a PPI link on BBC site about two weeks ago (bit of a Sam Allardyce moment I regret now). It’s annoying enough but with terminal cancer, ive got better things to do with my time. Any ideas what to do? Or do I just have to get a new phone number?

Got a couple of missed calls from this number earlier. Decided to ring back just to find out who it was, and it turned out to be some sort of automated message from iPower Systems. No idea what that even is or why they'd be ringing me, so I just ended the call and blocked the number straight away.

I received a call from a company named "Assist," who were keen to assist me in claiming compensation for a road traffic accident I supposedly had over the past couple of years. However, when I politely informed the gentleman that I had no such incident, he abruptly hung up on me. Quite rude, if you ask me!

I received a rather vexatious call from a cheeky young chap, who maintained that I had requested to be contacted on a mobile number only my nearest and dearest are privy to. When I pressed him about how he obtained my information, he dodged the question entirely, asserting that since he was on the line, I must have initiated the contact. He even had the audacity to imply that I was deliberately seeking out calls just to annoy him! If I remember correctly, he mentioned he was from 'Speedy.' Strangely enough, in July alone, I had four different callers from this same outfit, all keen as mustard to assist me with claims for compensation. Quick scam attempt, saying it wasn’t a cold call on a number i never share. But it’s one i actually asked to be contacted on. Got loads of calls from these lot back in july - they wouldn’t tell me where they got my info from their records. One did admit they bought my details from a leads company though.
