Got a call out of the blue from someone asking to speak to the managing director about some paperwork they said had been sent before. Sounded like a typical cold call to me.

They said they were from Benchmark and mentioned they’d set up a meeting with our director. I explained that our director already told them back in May he’d get in touch if we needed anything. Plus, we’d asked them to take us off their list since we're registered with the preference service and shouldn’t be getting any cold calls. But despite that, they keep on calling us!

I got a call for my workmate from someone saying they were from Benchmark, talking about a letter supposedly sent by a director. Thing is, no one here has had any letter from that person, and you could clearly hear loads of noise like a call centre in the back. Something didn’t feel right at all.

Said the whole thing was private and kept dodging any details about the company or the request itself. Honestly, sounded like just a call centre trying to keep things vague.
