I received a rather dubious call from a withheld number claiming that there’s some money owed to me, directing me to ring 01613547747. Naturally, I haven’t called, as I’m certain no one owes me anything at all. I think it’s vital to investigate this further, as I worry that elderly folks might be more susceptible to such scams.

I received a call from a chap named Alan Watt, using the number 01622 436820. He claimed to be affiliated with 'We Fight Any Claim' and insisted that there was a PPI claim pending for the sum of £2,110. Right from the off, it felt dodgy; "Alan" had an accent reminiscent of someone from India or a nearby region. He instructed me to ring 0161 354 7747 and mentioned that I should provide them with a reference number he quoted, telling them, "Alan Watt gave you the reference number." Supposedly, this would lead to us receiving the money. Naturally, I decided to verify this with 'We Fight Any Claim', only to discover that there was no link between them and this phone number, not to mention they had absolutely no record of either myself or my wife. To make matters worse, the caller seemed to have our postcode as well. Quite unsettling!
