I received a rather peculiar call earlier today - there was a message left on my voicemail. The caller urged me to ring back at 2821788333, which I found rather odd. If it were a genuine fraud matter involving me, one would assume they'd actually know my name! The message was supposedly from an Eric Foster at HMRC. You'd think they'd have the sense to pick a new alias by this point, wouldn't you? Quite the dodgy scenario, if you ask me!

I've received a couple of rather peculiar automated calls from the number 01613547110, notifying me urgently about a supposed serious lawsuit involving my name. I've yet to engage with them and have promptly reported the matter to the fraud division of the City of London police. On Friday, they decided to ring again, but oddly enough, didn’t leave a voicemail. Upon a bit of investigation, it seems that this number belongs to a service that sends notifications on behalf of others. Quite suspicious, wouldn’t you agree?

I received a rather alarming phone call last week from someone claiming to be associated with HMRC, demanding a fine of £3,998 and citing a Robert Foster as the name. They frightfully warned my elderly mother, who’s 73, that the police would be arriving to bust through our door within half an hour. It’s a bit concerning, isn’t it? I wonder if there’s any way we could trace this number and perhaps organise a meeting with these individuals to confront them directly. This sort of nonsense shouldn't be allowed to continue unchecked.

I received a rather distressing message on my elderly parents' phone while my brother was gravely ill. The caller mentioned something about a court case, which understandably threw my father into a bit of a panic. When he returned the call, expecting clarification, he was met with nothing but verbal hostility. This man was not only aggressive but also had the audacity to know my father's name, threatening him with all sorts of legal nonsense. It was only after my father mentioned contacting the police that the caller abruptly hung up. I've since discussed this with a police officer, and they advised that this could potentially be a scam which might affect your phone bill. They recommended reporting it via 101 and obtaining a police reference number for future reference.

I had a rather peculiar voicemail from the number 0800 953 9090 the other day. The caller insisted I ring a different number, 1613 547 110, but then they oddly repeated it as 1613 549 940! A bit of confusion there, wouldn’t you say? They mentioned something about me being part of a court matter with HMRC, which certainly raised my eyebrows. However, when the so-called 'HMRC' representative cheerily concluded the call with a rather quizzical “goodbye and have a blessed day,” I couldn't help but chuckle.

I dropped you a report a few days back. When I tried calling, I inquired about the number but got disconnected, then when I rang again, it dawned on me that it was all a scam. I'm also worried if this call was charged at a premium rate, which could really ramp up my phone bill! What a bother! 😟

I recently received a call from someone claiming to be Jonathon Harvey, who provided the phone number stated above. There seems to be quite a few people with that name in Hull. During our conversation, he threatened me with legal action, hinting that if I could 'resolve' a supposed HMRC debt of £3,487 that had accrued over the years, he would withdraw the case and avert any potential prison time. He mentioned not taking any details during the call but insisted that if I agreed, he’d need to consult his manager, insisting I stay on the line. I had my suspicions about this being a scam, but out of curiosity, I wanted to see how it unfolded before ultimately deciding to hang up. He then called me back, and I firmly stated it was a scam. I've heard similar reports of HMRC scam calls this week, particularly targeting elderly women in the South West London area, which is quite concerning.

Received a rather alarming voicemail regarding some legal action. Apparently, it’s urgent, so they urged me to contact this number without delay! I've encountered similar situations in the past and usually brush them off, but I reckon it could really unsettle someone who's a bit anxious. It's absolutely appalling that these calls persist without any consequences.

My mother, who sadly lost my father just last week, received a rather distressing phone call from someone claiming to be from "HMRC," threatening her with legal repercussions. At 87 years old, this experience has left her thoroughly shaken. I tried ringing the number back straight away, and when I began to question the chap on the line, who had an Asian accent, he simply disconnected the call. Since then, I've attempted to reach out three more times, puzzled as to why I was greeted by the same individual each time. When I requested to speak to a supervisor, it was painfully obvious that I was still talking to the same person; he too cut me off when I probed further. These individuals are utterly despicable, and it's crucial we put a stop to their antics.

My mother got a call on her landline from this number, and it left her quite shaken. She's 86 and has difficulties getting around, so it really took a toll on her. The callers claimed to be from HMRC and were saying they would initiate legal proceedings if she didn't get in touch with them immediately, implying severe repercussions. It’s utterly appalling that anyone could stoop so low to target someone as vulnerable as her.

Upon returning home, I discovered an automated message on my answering machine, claiming that there’s a lawsuit filed against me. Naturally, I haven't dialled the number, and after perusing various comments online, it appears to be nothing more than a scam. Dealing with stress has already taken its toll on me, and I certainly don’t require such absurd and shameful messages at this time.

Just got a rather dodgy text earlier claiming to be from HMRC and Customs, warning me of some grave lawsuit linked to this number. No names were provided, mind you. It urged me to respond to avoid dire repercussions. Curiously enough, they wrapped up the message with "Have a blessed day." I’d say that’s a pretty obvious red flag that this is nothing but a scam!

I've received a few rings from this number and, naturally, I've chosen to pass on answering. A crucial point for anyone even slightly considering ringing them back is that they haven’t a clue who you are; they never reference your name and have no inkling of who’s picked up on the other end. Still, it’s a refreshing change from the incessant calls I'm getting from China lately!

My elderly mother received a rather distressing phone call earlier. At 78 and with her health not being the best, it really unnerved her. I’ve just returned home to discover a voicemail on my answering machine - a woman’s voice it was. The content echoed what others have shared before me - menacing tones, mention of potential legal ramifications, something about a serious matter with HM Revenue and Customs, and to top it all off, it concluded with “have a blessed day.” She’d certainly be having a “blessed day” if I could get in touch with her!

You can be rest assured that HMRC will not:
- reach out to you regarding any tax rebates via telephone
- request you to provide updated security codes or banking details
- call you without first confirming your identity nor will they demand a fee for any service, including reimbursements
- leave threatening messages on your voicemail regarding potential court proceedings.

If you encounter any fraudulent calls, it’s vital to report them to the police through their online portal at www.actionfraud.police.uk, or by ringing 0300 123 2040, available 24/7. Should you have inadvertently shared your banking information, contact your bank or card provider without delay. I've received a similar call myself! It really set me on edge, particularly because my partner owns a small business. I decided to ring them back to see what it was all about, but the chap I spoke to was incredibly rude. He simply told me to get my husband to ring them and then promptly cut the call. At that point, I realised it was nothing but a scam. I noted his Indian accent, which just added to my suspicions. I do hope I won't have to pay anything for having returned that call. It’s quite outrageous that such things are allowed to go on!

This morning, on the 5th of September around 11:15, I received a rather alarming phone call from this number. Upon answering, I was greeted by a rather menacing automated voice-apparently from someone named 'Lisa'-threatening me with legal action should I fail to return the call. It warned of potential court proceedings and hefty fines. In a moment of pure folly, I did call back, only to be met by a gentleman claiming to be 'Officer Mike Wilson,' whose accent was distinctly Indian. He informed me that the call was concerning my taxes and asserted that it was my 'Final Notice.' Naturally, when I mentioned that I hadn’t received any prior communication on this matter, the line abruptly went dead. Quite the dodgy affair, if you ask me!

The message stated that I was apparently involved in a grave legal matter and urged me to get in touch right away, or I would face hefty charges! It's quite distressing-can anything be done to put an end to these calls?

I received a call from this number, along with another one that finishes with 9940. I didn’t pick up, but I have a hunch it’s from overseas, which is why I tend to ignore such calls. It’s quite likely that’s how they can deliver such menacing messages. Honestly, I can't imagine Revenue and Customs ever leaving a voicemail like that; they strictly stick to sending written correspondence! I’d advise steering clear of it, and please alert anyone who might be easily swayed.

As a former IT specialist who's had a fair few years fiddling with security frameworks for various police departments, I'm back from my trip only to discover a peculiar voicemail awaiting me. It’s undoubtedly a scam. Genuine correspondence from HMRC is always in writing; they wouldn’t leave ominous messages like that. This so-called HMRC officer, Lisa, is an utter farce. The cherry on top? She had the audacity to wish me a "blessed day"! For anyone else who encounters this nonsense, do make sure to alert Ofcom-they have the power to take action against these despicable wretches. And for heaven's sake, steer clear of calling them back!

I've received two calls today, and curiously, one of them instructed me to ring 1613459940 (check out the other remarks about that number on this site). What baffles me is how no one seems to be able to pinpoint the individual orchestrating these nuisance calls. It feels like a serious threat, and in a civilised society, individuals shouldn't be allowed to intimidate others without facing repercussions. It's absolutely maddening!

Do NOT answer this number. It really frightened my grandparents, who are both in their late 80s. Definitely a scam. Luckily they ignored it, no telling what might have happened otherwise.

Got a call supposedly from HMRC threatening a lawsuit against me. It was an automated message telling me to ring them back on that number. Total scam, for sure! Had a very similar call before asking me to dial 01613549940. Didn't answer either time.

Got a voicemail saying it was urgent and to call officer Lisa about serious criminal charges. When I rang back, a bloke called Richard Harper claimed to be from HMRC and said he needed to talk to my husband about tax evasion. Total scam, don’t pick up if you get a call from 01613547110 or if it shows up as an international number.

0161 354 7110 called my 82 yr old mum leaving a message in some weird robotic voice, saying they were from HMRC and threatening legal trouble if she didn't call them back straight away. Total SCAM. The number looked like it was from Manchester but wasn’t recognised anywhere. HMRC would never get in touch like this. It’s just like that American IRS scam that was going around a few months ago, maybe the same lot doing it here. My mum was really shaken up. Honestly, these people are the worst in my view.

Got a voicemail pretending to be from HMRC saying there’s a big lawsuit against me, no proper name given, just someone called Officer Lisa. Bless her heart. My elderly grandma got really upset after hearing it and actually called back, which she shouldn’t have done. Now we just have to wait and see if that’s going to cause any problems.

I got a call from this number and they played a robotic-sounding message telling me I was in big trouble with the tax office, that I'd face severe legal action, and that it was my final warning to ring them back. Seems like a scam to me, trying to get folks to call a pricey number or pick up when they ring back so they can scam money out of you.

I have taken the step of reporting this to the Action Fraud team and would recommend others do likewise if they find themselves in a similar situation. My mother has been inundated with calls and menacing texts from this number, purporting to be from HMRC. I’m doing my utmost to convince her that it’s all a scam, but she’s quite distressed by it all. It’s appalling how these despicable individuals prey on the vulnerable, attempting to fleece them of their hard-earned cash. It really infuriates me, and I believe these crooks need to be brought to justice!

Just like everyone else, they rang my 86 year old mum. She saw through it was a scam but it still left her feeling all shaken and worried for most of the day. She’s feeling a bit better now that she knows her elderly pals got the same call.

I just got a voicemail claiming to be from HMRC warning me about a major legal issue. I ended the call halfway through. At first, I thought it was a reminder about my self assessment tax deadline, but then it hit me that it was fake. Definitely a scam, and I really hope no one falls for it.
