Got a call today at 2.22pm from a woman asking for my dad who’s sadly passed away, so I just hung up. Then the same number rings back at 3.26pm, but this time it’s a bloke, still wanting to talk to my dad! How can they not understand that he’s gone? Dealing with loss is tough enough without these muppets cold calling and saying they’ve sent PPI letters.

Honestly, I think it’s not really their fault. Loads of Brits and companies have outsourced phone calls to try and sell stuff. Most of the people on the other end aren’t well educated and might even be immigrants working for very low wages. We even give them work permits so they can come here and work for hardly anything. Like, for instance, British Telecom’s phone support got shifted to India, so when they ring you, it’s actually someone in India, but the number looks local so you don’t even notice.

They say they're helping with PPI claims but they're just scammers trying to rip you off. These are folks who’ve probably been called out for not having a proper job, yet they keep going with their dodgy calls. Honestly, if you get time it’s worth reporting them to the police.

They’ve rung me like 10 or 11 times in the last few days. I picked up a few times and it’s always some Indian bloke or lady asking me to verify my name and address because they want to send me stuff. I blocked one number but then another one, with just the last digit different, called me again about the same thing. They haven’t left any messages, texts or emails, and nothing has arrived, so it’s obviously a load of spam.

The bloke calling me had an accent that seemed more like he was from Bangalore, India, rather than around Manchester by the 0161 code. I told him straight, "I don't deal with nuisance calls and don't want to receive any more from you." He said he wasn’t trying to sell me anything. Still, I ended the call before I could even ask what the purpose of the call was.

These morons have been ringing me for ages, I reckon, but I never pick up numbers I don’t know and just bin them. Only spotted yesterday it was the same number calling. Four times yesterday and four times today. If you do answer, no one talks and it just ends. Looks like some automated dialler is blasting out to loads of people, so the actual muppets can’t even answer them all. I’ve reported it to the ICO and they say everyone should report these calls.
