01613540608 rang my mum's landline saying they were from the tax office. When I called back, the person on the other end didn’t sound local at all, more like someone from abroad.

Looks like this is kicking off once more, BE CAREFUL! The new number from HMR & Customs is 02080770523. Got me worried as I wasn’t aware of this scam before. I rang www.actionfraud.police.uk to report it, but I didn’t even know about that site until now. They keep you posted on all sorts of scam calls and emails, so if you’re new to this, double-check stuff. Maybe your phone company can block the number too. Action Fraud said they really want their money back.

Got a call from 0161 354 7110, a woman called Lisa Williamson threatening legal trouble and a warrant for tax dodging. I rang back, and the second I said her name, the call just cut off. Later, I called from my mobile and was told she was busy in a meeting, but if I gave the number the message came from, the bloke said he could explain what it was about. After a quick chat, I told him it was obviously a total con.

01613547087 Got a robo call with a weird accent claiming to be from HMRC warning me of serious trouble if I didn’t pick up. I tried calling back and an asian guy answered but seemed clueless who I was. I asked twice what the call was about, and on the second time he just hung up! Found some similar complaints online too. Watch out for this one!!!!!!

happened to me today too, caller said Heather Gray HMRC, told my solicitor to give them a ring quick on 0161 354 9859. Its one of those auto calls like most ive seen here. The number just keeps ringing or goes busy after a few rings. Completely a scam.

Got two calls from these lot today. The first left some automated message. I called back, not realising what it was, and they claimed to be from HMRC. I almost fell for it until the threats got ridiculous - something about taking my assets and even my driving licence for five years! Total nonsense. These scammers are a joke. HMRC would never ring like that. I’ve reported them to the police via Action Fraud (0300 123 20 40).

Got a call from 0161 354 7089 saying it was something sensitive but didn’t ask for anyone specific at our place. They said I had to ring them back straight away because they were from HMRC. Total rubbish if you ask me! Do they honestly imagine we’re daft enough to fall for that? Felt quite intimidating as well, which is a bit worrying.

It was a prerecorded voice. HM Customs would never contact anyone like that. Plus, it mentions you or your 'retained lawyer' getting back in touch. No one really says "retained lawyer" here in the UK. I’m pretty sure such a big organisation like HM Customs has a proper team dedicated to stopping these fraudsters - they've gotta have a pretty big Fraud Dept. If we taxpayers tried pulling the same scam on them, they wouldn’t hesitate to come after us straight away. Honestly, these scammers deserve the same treatment - they’re nothing short of troublemakers.
