I found myself inundated with calls, each accompanied by a voicemail warning me of impending legal action if I didn't ring back. Out of sheer curiosity, I decided to return the call one day, only to be met with an exceptionally impolite chap. He proceeded to rattle off a list of items without so much as a pause for breath, and when I dared to interject with a question, he barked at me to cease interrupting. It was infuriating! We lingered on the line for a good ten minutes until I finally snapped, instructing him to send me a letter instead before hanging up. Now I’m absolutely dreading what my next phone bill will look like-such a pain!

Got a call from an automated voice claiming to be HMRC saying if I didn’t answer straight away they’d take my car away. I knew it was dodgy when she ended the call by repeating the exact same thing and then said “have a nice day” and “take care.” This is the third time I’ve had this message this week. I even went to the cops to report it coz worried someone older might get caught out, but they didn't seem bothered. Hello! I've just had a rather peculiar phone call from this number. It appears to be some sort of overseas call centre, as it's typically the same woman answering my calls. I decided to inquire why I was being contacted on a bank holiday Monday, and instead of a reasonable response, she ominously threatened to involve the police, albeit in a rather thick accent that made it hard to understand. I cheekily suggested she ought to work on her English skills, and lo and behold, she ended the call abruptly! I'm genuinely worried that someone who is more vulnerable could be caught out by these despicable scammers. Anyone who's dealt with HMRC knows they have a very different way of speaking!

Got a call today from someone named Heather Gray, said if I don’t have a lawyer, I should call them back and not ignore it or else they’ll take action against me. I got really scared and rang back the number. A bloke answered and told me I had to pay £1500 to HMRC within 15 minutes or they’d take me to court and get arrest warrants sorted. I went and called back by mistake, turns out no one there speaks proper English. It's obviously a scam where they try to get your bank details. 1, I'm English myself so this is definitely dodgy! 2, when you ask for someone who speaks English or the manager, they either hang up or put some Chinese person on the line who says they speak English, but you just can’t get what they’re saying.
