These dodgy ppl called my mum and scared the life out of her, she legit got so shook she phoned the cops. They seriously need shutting down and taught a lesson, I’m tempted to pick up next time just to mess with them a bit. Proper scam, they even threaten to send someone round for cash without any bank info. If everyone tricked by these jerks fought back, maybe they’d stop.

Got a voicemail that sounded fishy, claiming to be from HMRC, saying I needed to ring them back urgently, or I'd face consequences. The voice was all robotic and ended with a weird "take care" bit. Total scam. What a load of rubbish!

Scam call nearly tricked my grandad, someone pretending to be from HMRC said he owed over 4 grand and that bailiffs were on their way with a warrant. We got in touch with the real HMRC who advised us to notify the police. I really recommend anyone who gets a call like this to report it to the fraud team straight away.

Sadly, she called back, being old and vulnerable she didn't see through it. They said she owed money and get this - if she didn't pay, they'd take her car away! She told them "I don’t even own a car" and they just hung up! These awful people need to be stopped, how can anyone treat elderly folks like this? Absolutely cruel!

A chap rang us claiming to be from customs and excise, insisting that my wife had an outstanding bill of £3,800. When she probed him about where she supposedly worked, he couldn’t provide an answer and quickly ended the call. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

Getting repeated voicemail messages, sometimes twice a day, from someone claiming to be HM Revenue and Customs, threatening legal action unless I or my solicitor ring them back, telling me to speak to Hannah Grey at 0161 354 7064. I first thought it was a scam because they called twice on a Saturday and then oddly ended the message with "take care." This sort of thing really should be stopped. It’s quite scary, especially for older folks, people with anxiety, or anyone already struggling with finances.

Got a recorded call on a Saturday arvo, when HMRC's offices are closed! The voice had an American accent saying, "Don't ignore this message, you owe taxes, call back blah blah." I called back and got a bloke with an Indian accent answering "hello, HMRC". Didn't bother chatting with him, clear as day this is a scam just to freak people out. Plan to report it to the cops on Monday.

I got a voicemail on my answering machine to call back 01613 547064 supposedly from HMRC, saying it was urgent. When I phoned back, a woman with an Asian accent answered. I asked what it was about and she asked for my name. I gave it and she claimed HMRC was filing a lawsuit against me!! I told her that was nonsense and I don’t owe anyone any money. I got a call from a bloke named Michael Johnson claiming I owed HMRC £4500. I told him straight he was a scammer and he hung up. Then, someone called Hannah Grey said I needed to call back urgently or the police would come to arrest me. I rang the police on 111 and they told me HMRC would never act like that. So glad that’s cleared up! 111 also gave me a number to report these scams: 0300 123 2040, open 9am to 6pm weekdays. Stay safe out there!
