Got a call from someone claiming to be from the finance team, saying I had over £9000 waiting for me as unclaimed PPI. Sounded a bit dodgy to me... They then gave me the name of an agent who was supposed to call back with the cheque, and asked me to have my ID ready. That made me even more wary. Then they told me I needed to buy a £50 Paysafe Card, which they'd supposedly refund later. That was the final red flag. So, I looked up the number and apparently it's linked to scams and flagged as dangerous. Should I just block it or report it to 101?

My partner got a ring from this number when I wasn’t home. They said he was owed over £9,000 from something about PPI he'd apparently contacted them about back in 2017. They told him to get a £50 paysafe card and said someone would pop by to collect it. Luckily, I got back just in time and could tell straight away it was dodgy.

I got the usual story too, asking me to get a £50 paysafe card. When I asked why they needed it, they just got all defensive and dodgy. Watch out, this one's definitely a scam.

Got a call from this firm claiming they had a cheque ready for me worth more than £9000. They asked me to buy a PaySafe card and gave them the £50 pin. They said they’d drop the cheque off on the Tuesday after the bank holiday. Tried calling them back but the line just keeps ringing without answer. They also gave out 0161 354 8125 as their finance team number, and they first rang me from 0161 884 1750. Watch out for these numbers, seems dodgy.

Got a call from a dodgy number trying to get me to purchase a Paysafecard, definitely a scam.

Got a call from 0161 354 5324 saying I’d be sent a cheque worth over £7,000. But they told me first I had to buy a paysafe card for £75 to "release" the money. When someone showed up at my home, they handed over the cheque and wanted the card in return. They said the card was to prove I’d received the money and to help them get their “commission” from the government. Obviously the cheque was fake and I ended up losing £75 for no reason. Total scam.
