3 yearsReceived a call from someone claiming to be from a finance department, insisting they had a cheque waiting for me, a whopping £9000 for some unclaimed PPI. At first, I thought it seemed a tad dodgy, but I tried to keep an open mind. They even mentioned the name of the representative who would come by to hand over the cheque, but I'd need to provide some form of ID. By that point, my suspicions were heightened! Then came the big red flag: they wanted me to fork out £50 for a Paysafe Card, with the promise that my money would be reimbursed by the rep. At that moment, the alarm bells were absolutely deafening! Naturally, I took the sensible route and searched the number online, where it turned out to be flagged as a potential scam. Now I'm left pondering - should I just block the number entirely, or should I report it to 101? What do you reckon?3 yearsWhile I was out and about, my husband received a rather dubious call from this number. The caller insisted that they had a cheque for him, a whopping sum of over nine grand, supposedly linked to some PPI enquiry he made back in 2017. They then instructed him to purchase a £50 Paysafe card, with the promise that someone would come round shortly, and so forth. Thankfully, I returned home just in time to intervene before he could fall for their ruse. I recognised straight away that it was nothing but a scam.3 yearsJust like many have reported, I encountered a similar situation. I was asked for a £50 Paysafe card, and when I started probing further about the necessity for it, they became rather evasive and difficult. Please exercise caution - this is definitely a scam!3 yearsI picked up the phone to this outfit claiming they had a cheque for me, a whopping £9,000! In my eagerness, I ended up buying a Pay Safe Card and handed over the £50 PIN. They promised to swing by on Tuesday post-bank holiday with the cheque. However, when I tried to call back, it just kept ringing with no answer. They also provided a number, 0161 354 8125, supposedly for their finance team. Another number that reached out to me was 0161 884 1750. Just a heads-up to everyone to watch out for these contacts!3 yearsThis is definitely a dodgy number that’s trying to get you to purchase a PaySafe card. Be very wary!3 yearsI received a rather dubious call from 0161 354 5324, where the caller spoke of a supposed cheque for over £7,000. The catch? They insisted that I first purchase a PaySafe card costing £75 before they would deliver the cheque. Upon their visit, you hand over the card to them as a ‘receipt’ of sorts, with them assuring you that it’s necessary for them to collect their commission from the government. It's all a complete scam, as the cheque is entirely fake, and you've forked out £75 for absolutely nothing!Submit Your Own Report (0161 354 5324)
