Proper annoying lot! They ring from some call centre saying they're from O2, sounds quite real too! They try to get your details and bank info but I didn't fall for it! Told O2 about it and they said they're looking into it as an ATTEMPTED SCAM. STAY WELL AWAY FROM 0161 2776602, folks!!! X

Bloody annoying, these persistent pests - answered the phone today and they said they were from O2. They kept insisting they weren’t scammers and were genuine O2, but couldn’t tell me anything about my actual O2 account and then asked for my address and bank info. Seriously, don’t bother picking up this number.

When I used 1471 and called back, a recorded message said it was a call from someone working for O2. I've put in a report with the Information Commissioner's Office since these calls are meant to be illegal. I'm also trying to get hold of O2 to report it but getting through is proving tough :-(

While I wouldn't go as far as to label it a scam, the tactics employed here are utterly disgraceful. My elderly mother, who's in her 80s, was pressured into revealing her information, and now we find ourselves in the unfortunate position of having to cancel her bank cards. They even had the audacity to request her passwords! Please exercise extreme caution if you come across this.

This number called me twice within a couple of days. I’m pretty cautious about who I share my number with, so I usually don’t pick up unknown calls. After checking reviews on this and a few other sites, I got in touch with O2 myself. They confirmed it’s them and said it’s a telemarketing thing. They offered to block my number, which I accepted. The guy told me he’d passed my info to the telemarketing team but it could take up to 28 working days before the calls finally stop. So now I’m just waiting to see if it works. Hope this info helps someone.
