Somebody rang and claimed to be from O2, so I just hung up straight away.

Got a call from a blocked number, didn’t get a voicemail though. Could hear a busy call centre noise in the background, sounded like one of those automated things.

They kept bothering me for ages, saying they were from O2 about a sim I supposedly ordered. I never did. When I told them we'd had calls before from folks pretending to be EE and Opus, they eventually said they work for O2, then switched it up to say they're a third party who got my number somehow linked to a PlayStation. I finally got them to stop by joking that I was a s#x hotline. Haven't heard from them since.

So, I didn't pick up the first call but answered when they rang back a few hours later. The caller claimed to be from O2, but got my name totally wrong (I'm definitely not Miss Green). They asked about a SIM card order that I never made and if it was meant for me or someone else. I just ended the call and blocked the number straight away. What’s weird is that during the gap, I got a text from 88440 addressed to 'Eiliah' (again, not me), saying thanks for confirming my order and offering a free O2 SIM with a dodgy link. Obviously, I didn’t bother clicking it, but I did forward the message and reported the whole thing to O2’s spam line at 7726.

I got a message from a number starting with 88440 saying a SIM card had been ordered for someone called Stephen. I’m definitely not Stephen, so that caught me off guard. Then the same number rang me twice afterwards. I didn’t pick up the first call and missed the second one. I’m just gonna keep ignoring it from now on.
