Got a call from this really insistent woman claiming I wasn’t tied into a fixed-term contract, even though I’m absolutely sure I am. She tried to convince me they’re linked with the utilities, but something felt off. Had a quick look for her company on the internet and couldn’t spot anything legit at all.

The phone rang and a bloke greeted me with a 'hello'. I responded in kind, only for him to repeat his 'hello' and promptly hang up. Quite peculiar, really.

Got a call from a lady claiming to be with AED, she started with asking how I was doing. Instantly thought, yep, another sales pitch coming my way! I told her I was alright but made it clear I wasn’t interested in any adverts and then ended the call. Noticed the same number had rung me a bunch of times before too.

This has got to be the most disrespectful cold caller I’ve ever dealt with. I’m fed up with them spouting off false stuff about my business when they clearly haven’t got a clue. Seems like I’m not the only one who’s had to put up with this nonsense.

I had a chat with a woman named Sarah from Utility Hive, and she confirmed that this isn’t their number at all. Apparently, the calls are coming from ACTIVE ENERGY DIRECT LTD, which operates out of Exchange House, 40-44 Cariocca Business Park, Hellidon Close, Manchester, M12 4AH - looks like they’re messing about with spoofed numbers. I’ve already flagged them up to Ofcom and Trading Standards. On the other hand, Utility Hive gave me a cracking deal and sorted out a new energy contract for me. Can’t fault Utility Hive, really good service.

I got a call from a woman claiming she could lower my business rates. I told her my rates are alright, cheers. She then asked if I was the owner. I kept repeating that my rates are fine, thanks. Just as I was about to end the call, she insisted, “Are you the owner before you hang up?” So, I just said thanks again and ended the call!

Somebody called saying they could save me money on my electric, kept ringing even after I said no. Told them I’d just switched to a business account, but they didn’t believe me or something. Been living here for nearly three decades, so it was a bit ridiculous really.

These guys ringing about gas and electric deals were so pushy and disrespectful, I ended up just hanging up on them out of pure frustration.

This person called me saying they had the cheapest electricity rates around. I kept asking if they knew about the Telephone Preference Service, but they just didn’t acknowledge it and went on with their sales pitch. When I asked what I’d just told them, they acted as if they had no clue and said they were just trying to offer the best electricity deal. I then told them that cold calling people on the TPS list isn’t allowed, but they just said it didn’t matter since their deal was so good. That’s when I ended the call.
