They claimed to be from O2, tryin to sell me a contract with a better deal. Don’t trust them at all, just stick to the official O2 site or pop into a local O2 store.

Got a call purportedly from O2, and they had some information that seemed quite pertinent. Oddly enough, my Motorola warned me that the number could be dodgy while it was ringing, but I (rather foolishly) picked up anyway before cutting the call short.

They said they were from o2 and wanted my info to set up a direct debit. When they asked for the full 16-digit card number, I knew something was off. You only ever need your sort code and account number for that, so it was obviously a scam.

Normally they just ring me up but this time they really slipped up by leaving me a voicemail of them trying to scam another person. The message had loads of rude stuff before the woman even picked up, all while they were pushing her to change from pay as you go.

I reckon this is a scam. If it really was O2, they’d send you texts about deals or tell you when you ring their legit customer service. No telco would just randomly call you unless it was some urgent matter (which is pretty rare anyway). My advice? Just block the number. And if you get calls from another Manchester number, it’s probably dodgy too since it’s not normal for them to keep phoning from loads of different numbers.

Got a call from that number twice today, once first thing and then again later in the evening. I usually get calls from 161 area codes and 9 times out of 10 it's some kind of scam. Watch out!

0161 249 7893 kept ringing me, saying they were from o2 but calling from a different number. I blocked that one after they wouldn’t stop hassling me. They first asked for my address for some “contract,” which I gave, but then they started asking for my bank details. I told them I was busy and ended the call. said they were from 02. rang me loads over the past week, and when i finally picked up i told them i was busy at work and couldnt talk. then they started getting really pushy and rude, demanding i listen to them. no idea if this was really 02 or not, but iv blocked quite a few numbers from manchester before. main thing is, if it was something important they’d send you an email anyway.
