3 yearsAbsolutely cracking bloke this one was. Max Emmanual, with a thick Asian twang, kept me on the phone for a full 9 minutes, volleying insults back and forth like a game of tennis. I called him out, saying it’s obviously a scam. He asked how I knew, and I just said it was the accent - dead giveaway. Then out of nowhere he told me to “go back to India” 😂. Thing is, I’m not Asian, and I don’t have any accent aside from plain English. What a complete muppet. He claimed he was from some firm called Veritas. He’ll go “who told you that?” every time. If you check on Truecaller, you’ll see loads of scam reports against his number, so don’t be fooled. He rings up pretending it’s about housing problems, asking things like, “Do you have mould in your council or housing association property?” or “Does a mate of yours have an issue?” He’ll claim he’s working with solicitors but if you ask for which ones, he won’t give a straight answer. He just rambles about a long list and insists “this isn’t a scam” or “I’m not a scammer,” but trust me, he definitely is. At some point he'll drop the name Veritas Solicitors, but it’s just another trick.
