Got several calls in quick succession. When I picked up, some bloke spoke then just ended the call suddenly. I checked AO's 'Live Chat' to see if it was actually them, but their chatbot didn’t understand my question at all. Think I'll just block the number and assume it's dodgy.

I keep getting missed call alerts from this AO.com number, even though I've blocked it. It rings at least once in the morning and again later on, sometimes even three times a day. Proper annoying!

Totally dodgy call! They say they're from AO insurance or something similar, but it's all fake. Seems like they've got hold of data from some hack or leak and ring up folks who probably bought from AO before, trying to sell you insurance. Don't trust them, just block the number and report it straight away.

This number showed up as possible spam so I ignored it at first. After they kept ringing me every day, sometimes even more than once, without ever leaving a message explaining why, I had enough and blocked them. From what others have mentioned, it seems linked to AO, but we haven't ordered anything from there in ages. I’m not really trusting them at this point.

When you shop at AO, you might get contacted by a warranty firm afterwards. They reach out to people who bought stuff from AO.com because AO shares your details with them after you’ve made a purchase. It’s not a scam, just a company trying to offer extra products.

I got a call regarding insurance from a company linked with AO since I bought a fridge from them less than a year ago. It was a bit irritating because it was basically a sales pitch trying to get me to buy insurance, but I can confirm it was legit, not some kind of scam.

So they called me yesterday, and as soon as I picked up, they just hung up - bit rude if you ask me, especially since they were the ones ringing. Then they tried again today, but I decided not to answer. Honestly, it could be anyone.

Got a call saying it was from AO but honestly haven’t ordered anything from them in ages, like over a year. My phone flagged it as a possible scam so I ignored the first three calls. I finally picked up on the fourth day and they started asking about insurance, but I just ended the chat. Later on, they rang my partner trying to get info. Today, I got a call but didn’t pick up since I never answer calls from numbers I don’t recognise. I’ve just made a purchase from AO recently, and after reading others’ comments I guess this call was about insurance sales related to AO orders. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now.

Like others have said, this isn't a scam at all. It's just a warranty firm trying to sell extra cover to people who've purchased from AO.com. AO passes your info onto them after you make a purchase.

Seemed fishy. A bloke called about some ‘warranty’ thing and when I asked for the address, he said he wasn’t allowed to share it. I’ve come across this kind of thing before, so I asked him once more and then he just hung up. Definitely don’t share any info!

It’s just AO.com ringing about their warranty extension, not some scam, for goodness sake! Sure, if you’re not bothered it can be a bit annoying, and yes, they’re sales folks trying to sell something, so you might feel a bit pushed, but you can always just hang up. Let’s not ruin a handy site by calling everything that annoys you a “scam” and being so negative!

If you recently purchased anything from AO.com, chances are they’ve shared your contact details with this firm, who’ll then ring you to pitch extended warranties. It can get quite irritating and feel like pestering, so best thing to do is just block their number.

My phone flagged this number as suspicious. Even though the person knew some stuff about my past orders and even emailed me, I still didn’t share any personal info. They’ve been ringing me non stop for the last three days but never leave a voicemail. I’ve just blocked the number out of principle.

Got a call saying my home appliance warranty needs renewing! I dont even have one, so it’s clearly a scam. Blocked the number straight away.

It’s AO ringing about insurance for stuff they’ve already sold you. Most of the time you don’t really want it, but it’s not a con or anything.

Got a dodgy call again saying I’m paying £4.99 a month for insurance on some old machine. Never signed up for that at all. I usually order from AO but after this happening twice, I reckon I’ll try a different store.

My phone provider flagged the call as spam so I didn’t pick up. But then they rang my husband’s phone, which is almost the same number as mine.

AO keeps ringing me about taking out a warranty, even after I’ve said no loads of times. They call a few times every day, so I ended up blocking their number. Now they’ve started phoning my partner asking for me. It’s getting really close to harassment, honestly.

Nice bloke called my work line, claiming he knew I bought an AOL Fridge last year and wanted to sell me insurance to cover replacement if an engineer said the fridge was beyond repair. I was sensible enough to tell him after a bit that I was working and couldn’t share any financial info then. Wish I’d been that firm from the start. Kinda creepy how they ring up on Christmas Eve sounding so legit, and while you’re actually at work too.

Why is this number keep ringing me like 8 times in a single day... it’s honestly so annoying... proper harassment if you ask me 😑

Got no clue who that could be, so I usually just ignore calls from numbers I dont have saved.

Got a call but no message left. I'm with AO so maybe it’s them ringing about insurance or some kind of warranty offer.

Can folks quit calling regular marketing calls a SCAM? It’s just confusing and not right. 0161 235 0403 is from AO, they’re offering insurance for electrical appliances.

I missed a call from this number earlier, but after checking here, I reckon it’s connected to an email I got today about my AO membership renewal. Not sure if it’s legit or a scam - some folks say one thing, others say another. Either way, I’m planning to cancel my membership, so I’ll sort it out using the info I have, rather than answering this call.

Somebody called saying they were from AO about a fridge freezer I supposedly bought last year. I told them I’d never bought anything from AO. Sounds like one of those warranty scams to me.

Yeah, it’s AO’s warranty folks calling. If you’ve purchased something from them and haven’t got a warranty yet (which you rarely need anyway!), they’re just following up to see if you wanna reconsider. The people on the phone are pretty nice, and when you tell them you’re not up for it, they just say cheers and wish you a nice day :)

This is AO, a well-known appliance seller in the UK. They rang me up to suggest an extended warranty for something I bought about a year back. The call seems legit, not some dodgy scam, and it was easy enough to say no thanks.

Didn’t pick up the call but looked the number up and it showed maybe AO. Wouldn't shock me if it’s AO insurance cause I just got a washing machine from them, but already told them I’m not interested in insurance. Won’t be answering if they ring back.

Avoid talking to these callers, they ring up saying they’re reviewing your life insurance and ask for your personal details. Then they tell you to wait on the line while supposedly checking for a better offer - but in that time they’re actually trying to hack you! This number is definitely part of a scam!

Loads of people are already flagging this number on here. Surely you’ve got a duty to share this info with the UK police. They rang me today and I blocked them straight away, no point in even picking up! I don’t even answer calls from family usually.

Got a call from AO asking if I was some other person. Told them I wasn’t, but they kept going on about a vacuum cleaner that the other person apparently bought ages ago. I had to say again it’s not me, but they just wouldn’t stop talking, so I ended up just hanging up.

Got a call from some scammer claiming I owed money, but they didn’t even seem to know my name or that I’ve never bought anything from them. They said it was some sort of insurance fee, and the bloke was really aggressive, threatening to take me to court if I didn’t pay £280 immediately. They asked for my full name, address and bank info. Surely, if I actually owed money, they’d already have my details, right? Total scam. Don’t get caught out by this!

Some bloke called asking to speak to a lady, saying he was from a warranty firm and that she bought a gadget last year or something. Not totally convinced it’s legit coz when I looked up 0161 235 0403 there’s no company linked. Remember tho, phone numbers can be spoofed, so even if it looks genuine, be careful. If you want warranty info, best to check your actual paperwork first.

They really dont seem to pay attention (0161-235-0403) i told them twice today they had the wrong number but they kept calling. Today the bloke just wouldnt accept that i never bought a washing machine... are they hiring incompetent ppl at this warranty insurance firm? These calls might not be spam exactly but it sure feels like harassment.

Got a call from 01612350403 at 3.26 pm on 21st October but luckily my Call Guardian on the landline stopped them from getting through. After reading what other folks have said, it seems like they were after me to sign up for some extended warranty on a gadget, which I have no interest in. So glad I didn’t answer!

AO - honestly, this isnt a scam. They were reaching out to offer an extended warranty on something I bought almost a year back, so it was legit. If you dont want it, just politely decline. They were really respectful and took no for an answer without any pressure. People who just write "scam" without even picking up the phone just make this site pointless, and I reckon they shouldn’t get to leave comments.

Got a call from 01612350403 on my phone and it felt off straight away - looks like a scam to me. Some bloke with a northern accent used my name and tried to say my Bosch washing machine from last year needed a warranty update. I told him he’s got the wrong person and ended the call. Definitely a SCAM, I’ve never even bought a washing machine. Best to just ignore these calls and not get sucked into talking with them.
