Received a strange message the other day saying I’d bought a fridge from AO, which is rubbish. Then today, I saw I’d missed five calls, probably them trying to sell me insurance judging by what everyone’s been saying here.

Received a call today (Tuesday) and when I picked up, I greeted several times, yet there was no reply at all. Quite odd, really!

I keep receiving calls from this number and when I manage to block it, they just ring me up from a different one! The calls seem to originate from Manchester. Quite the nuisance, really!

I reckon this is some bloke trying to push me insurance for the fridge I just got like an hour ago. Fridges usually last ages and come with a warranty for one or two years anyway, so I’m fine without it.

Have you recently bought any gadgets from the AO site? I've come across discussions on various platforms suggesting that calls from this number are linked to AO's customer service. Apparently, they tend to discuss topics like insurance and extended warranties, but from what I gather, they don’t push you to make any purchases - it seems more like a friendly chat. I've received a handful of calls from this number over the past few days myself, and I’m expecting an appliance delivery from AO soon. Just thought I’d share my experience! Hope it proves useful.

seems its ao from the number above, i googled it as it was ringing. i did order a cooker from them yesterday, so it adds up, but still really annoying getting these sales calls out of the blue. bad handling of personal data if u ask me. shame.

I just kept quiet and it ended the call. From what I’ve read in the comments, if it really is AO, bit let down since they seem to have decent deals. But if it’s about insurance, is it them or another company connected to AO? Either way, they’re blocked now!

I got a call from a 01273 (Brighton) number earlier but didn’t answer since I only pick up calls I recognise. I used 1471 and the number that came back was 01612350400, which isn’t a Brighton number. I did place an order with AO this morning, so guess it was them like others have said.

Got a call from the same number but didn’t pick up. They'd also called me yesterday about a microwave I supposedly ordered just yesterday afternoon. They tried to get me involved in some kind of "survey" that felt like a sneaky way to pitch more stuff, so I just said no thanks and hung up.

I received a missed call from this number, which rang just three times before cutting off. Having recently ordered from Appliances Online, I reckon it aligns with the other mention regarding the same firm. I'm quite satisfied with their service overall; however, I've made it clear several times now that I'm not interested in receiving emails or phone calls from them any longer.

This number called me back pretending to confirm an order I made on a 0.com for an appliance, but really they were just trying to push some dodgy insurance on me. Bit sneaky from ao, honestly makes me wary about ordering from them again.

Got a call from the Manchester branch of AO Online, they was pushing insurance for something I ordered. Also got a ring from 01217943712, which is AO’s Birmingham office. As soon as I said I wasn’t interested, they hung up pretty sharpish.

I received a call from an 0141 number, which I recognised as being from Glasgow, but I missed it. So, I returned the call, and it turned out to be about an appliance I’d recently ordered. That was fine, but then the chap just went off on a wild tangent, asking all sorts of questions like how frequently I use my dryer and whether I wanted them to cart away my old one. It really felt like he was just trying to prolong the conversation unnecessarily, so I decided to hang up on him. Shortly after, I got a call from an 0161 number, and it appeared to be from the same company, so just a heads up-be cautious, as I suspect it might be a dodgy scheme aimed at racking up your phone charges.

I received a call from this number a little while back, though it ended in 0401. It seems that quite a few folks on here are mentioning it too. Just bought a washing machine from Appliances Online a couple of days ago, so I suspect it might be related.

This number keeps ringing, requesting a person who clearly doesn't reside here. Then it goes on about some kitchen gadgets we've supposedly ordered, which is utterly baffling since we haven't bought anything of the sort!

I've been getting daily calls from this number for three consecutive days now, but every time I try to pick up, the line drops before I can even say hello. The number in question is 01612350400. Quite frustrating, to say the least!

Got loads of annoying calls from some online appliance place. The worst part was, they were silent calls - no one actually spoke. It happened several times, sometimes from numbers that looked almost the same. I reported it to ofcom as it’s clearly against their privacy rules. I also complained to the company straight away, and they did apologise and took my number off their list. Still, it’s frustrating that this was allowed to happen in the first place.

I received a call from Appliances Online acting for Boots Kitchen Appliances, trying to sell me their extended or accidental damage warranty at a 'fabulous price' of a little over £5 a month. I chose to turn down their proposal. The lady on the line was very polite and didn’t pressurise me at all. She then went on to double-check my delivery details and wished me a pleasant evening. - caller: Appliances Online
