Got a call from some young bloke called Liam saying he was from Connex. Sounded really unprofessional, just asked "is (staff name) available?" I asked if she was supposed to be expecting the call and he goes, "yeah, about something on your line this Tuesday". I put him on hold and checked with the staff member who had no clue, same with our IT team. By the time I picked up again, he’d already hung up. Totally sketchy!!!

The way she spoke was really rude. A woman asked if I was the boss and when I said NO, she instantly said she’d call back later and tried to end the call. What’s that about? Who even talks like that? Don’t they get that the boss is usually too busy for calls like these? Proper annoying.

some young bloke called me looking for Bob, said he’d chatted to him a while back and was told to ring again to set up some appointment about saving money. 1. we don’t accept sales calls 2. we definitely wouldn’t ask anyone to call again 3. and we’ve no time for nonsense or fibbing, simple as that.

Some bloke said he was from BT Sales and said he’d pop round tomorrow since he was near. I said no, but he insisted he was coming anyway, no idea how that makes sense. Got a call from a number in Manchester, sounded like a sales guy I've heard before. He told me he was nearby and could lower my landline bill. I told him I was fine as it is, then he asked if I was with BT or another provider. I didn't want to say, just said goodbye, but he kept talking as I hung up. This caller was really pushy. When I cut him off, he got all hostile. I ended the call calmly, but he phoned back straight away. I told him I wasn’t interested and said I didn’t trust him before hanging up again. Then about 15 minutes later, he called a third time, but this time I could just hear a call centre background and no one spoke, then they hung up. Not sure if it’s the same person, but it’s definitely the same number! They clearly don’t care about the TPS or how people feel about these calls. Dunno what gear they’re trying to sell, but my advice is to steer well clear!

Got a really abrupt bloke calling, asking to speak to whoever handles our BT phone lines, claiming he needed to set up an appointment about some urgent work tomorrow. Turns out, the “important work” was just him trying to drum up interest from potential clients about switching their phone provider. Judging by how he spoke, I doubt he’s going to book many appointments, let alone land any real business. He kept saying “Konnex” but spelled with a K, of all things.
