Got a call from someone with an Indian accent claiming to be from O2. He said he was calling to offer me a cheaper phone plan. The scary bit was he seemed to know personal details, like that I’m on a SIM-only deal. Felt a bit dodgy. I made it clear I’d only speak to O2 if I rang them first. He tried to push me a bit, but I just said thanks and ended the call.

If you keep gettin these scam calls, the best thing you can do is report em, like a couple of comments below here suggest. Honestly, it's the only practical way to try and put an end too these pestering calls. Most folks just ignore them and that’s why this mess keeps happening. The police aren’t really clued up on this stuff and telcos just turn a blind eye unless the government steps in hard. Also, just blocking the numbers ain’t gonna help much - these dodgy callers just ring you from new numbers over and over again, just like those posts mentioned.
