Someone with a foreign accent called, and they kept mispronouncing my name. They wanted to know if I’d been getting lots of marketing calls. I only picked up because I was waiting for an important ring, usually I just ignore numbers I don’t know and let them go to voicemail. I told them exactly that, and added, “Actually, sounds like I’m getting a nuisance call right now, so I need to free up the line for the call I’m expecting, cheers,” then hung up. Maybe it was a legit call, but I never bother with marketing calls anyway, whether they’re real or not.
