Got a call from this number on the 20th of Feb, around 9:23 in the mornin. The bloke on the line spoke with a strong Asian accent. Sounded like he was callin from abroad or somethin about “Protection” or blockin nuisance calls. Feels like one of those dodgy nuisance calls tryin to sound legit with official-soundin phrases and usin a Welsh area code to trick folks. I’m pretty sure there’s some kind of scam ring operatin’ outta Wales.

I got a ring from this number but didn’t pick up. There wasn’t any voicemail either. The 01579 prefix points to Llandrindod Wells in Wales, but after looking into some local business listings, it seems odd. The businesses I checked with that dialling code all had numbers starting from 800 up to about 830, nothing hitting the 840 range. So, I’m leaning towards thinking it could be a dodgy scam call.
