Absolutely, it’s one of those dodgy Amazon scams, clearly employing a cluster of similar digits. I didn’t particularly appreciate them taking offence when I wished them a happy new year, adding a cheeky Indian slang term at the end-something I picked up from a scam baiter’s clip. Their crude retort was quite amusing, and I could almost swear I heard them have a mini meltdown over it.

Seems like the old scams are back in action - I don’t even have Amazon Prime and never use my landline for buying stuff online, yet calls keep coming through. Definitely watch out, it’s that time of year again!

Got a call at 7:20 in the morning claiming it was Amazon about a dodgy order on my account and that they’d put it on hold. They told me to press 1 for more info. Obviously, sounded like a scam to me, so I’ve just blocked the number. Total rubbish!

Got a call from 01582609970 and I blocked it straight away. The day before, another call came from a 01582 number saying I owed £699 for an iPhone from Amazon, and they wanted me to log into the Play Store. I hung up on them quick. These calls come almost every morning now. Definitely a scam, so don’t bother answering if it’s 01582 or some mobile number with the same prefix.
