I got a call from a number in Luton, the guy claimed he was with the British Council. He started talking about the government organising free food and meds distribution, then asked for my NI number. I said I wasn’t giving it out and ended the call straight away. Pretty clear it was a scam.

Got a call about renewing my husband’s Sky insurance for £12, but we don’t even have Sky! Tried to explain that, but they argued and then just hung up on me.

Got a call about renewing some Sky package or whatever. Problem is, I’ve never even had Sky! Total rubbish.

My partner got a call from this number earlier. Some bloke with a foreign accent said he was calling for the British Council and claimed my partner could get some extra cash from the government! Then he asked for his NI number and bank info, and that’s when my partner told him what a cheeky scammer he was, trying to take advantage of people, especially in these hard times. And surprise, surprise - the guy just hung up!

somebody just rang me claiming to be from the british council, saying there’s government cash available to help pay bills and buy food. i told him he was talking nonsense, told him to leave me alone and then ended the call.

someone called and mentioned my name but cut off right away. feels like my info might’ve been shared somewhere. getting ready for the endless scam calls now, i guess.
