In the past day, I've gotten about seven calls from folks speaking with an Indian accent, saying they're from BT Openreach. They're telling me my internet box is flashing errors and ask me to type stuff using the win+r shortcut. I always keep in mind, legit companies, especially not "windows," don’t ring you up about viruses. I’d bet these are scammers trying to trick you into thinking your PC’s infected or something’s wrong with it.

I’ve had about five calls in the space of a day from this number and a few others like it. Whenever I pick up, it’s dead quiet at first, then some bloke with an Indian accent says he’s calling from BT Openreach. One time I told him I don’t even have the internet and he hung up right away. On the other calls, he claimed there was a fault with my internet and asked for money to fix it. Pretty clear it’s a scam.
