got a call from some woman with a foreign accent saying something about ‘chips away’ and insurance i could apparently use 3 times a year to fix chips on my car. honestly, i was more thinking about a packet of crisps for lunch than any insurance. as soon as i told her i’m on the telephone preference service, she instantly ended the call. blocked the number straight away, haha.

I got this robo call saying it was from Amazon, telling me I’d made a £1000 purchase on a card linked to them (which is odd because I haven't used Amazon in ages, and they don’t even have my landline number). The message said to press 1 to confirm the purchase or 2 if there was a problem. I just put the phone down and now I'm trying to get through to Amazon to see what’s going on.

Well, just today, I received a phone call from an individual (who had a noticeable foreign accent) claiming to represent Beneficial. He began with "Can you hear?" and I instinctively replied, "I can hear you." He then reiterated his introduction along with the same question. I responded again with "I can hear you perfectly." After a brief pause, I quipped, "Are you perhaps hoping that I'd utter that word so you can ensnare me?" At that, he promptly ended the call. It’s wise to remain vigilant! The call could have simply been a sales tactic, but it certainly felt rather dodgy. The number that popped up was from Kidderminster: 01562 542715. Stay safe, everyone!

I was rather unimpressed when she struggled to say my name right, then had the audacity to inform me that no one by that name was present. That’s when I took the liberty of hanging up and subsequently blocking her number. She told me she was calling from something like ‘Benificial.' The accent was quite distinctly Indian. I can’t help but wonder how on earth they got hold of my name and number, especially since I’m exceptionally careful about not sharing them due to these pesky phone calls!

I found myself in a rather frustrating situation when an Indian lady, claiming to be from Beneficial, couldn't even get my name right! She apologised and insisted that there was no one by that name at her end, which was just absurd. I swiftly ended the call and promptly blocked her number. I'm genuinely curious about how they managed to obtain my name and number in the first place, as I hardly share it with anyone due to these pesky calls. It’s all rather bewildering, isn’t it?
