11 yearsI had a rather brash encounter with a rather pushy woman from Liverpool, who tried to claim I’d been involved in a road traffic accident. Naturally, I denied it, which sent her into quite the tizzy! It’s glaringly obvious she’s not from the 01555 area code in Scotland, and a quick search for her supposed company, Motec Services, yielded absolutely nothing. She said she was from a firm called "Motor Assist". When I told her I hadn’t, she went silent for about ten seconds, then I tried again with "No, I haven’t, are you there?" She snapped back quite rudely, "I heard you the first time," then just hung up on me. I decided to ring back to complain about the cheek and the unwanted call, but only got some Scottish voice on an answering machine saying to leave a message after the beep - then it just dropped out.
