Got a call saying there was some dodgy spending on my Barclaycard involving Amazon and Western Union. Obviously, I was suspicious and looked up the number, turns out it’s got no connection with Barclaycard at all. Pretty sure it’s a scam just like a lot of people are saying here.

Total scam alert! Got a message from Barclaycard on my work phone based in Newbury saying there was suspicious spending on my card. They claimed I’d spent £700 with Western Union and £400 on Amazon. The recorded voice (playing way too fast, like on 1.25 speed or something) told me to press 1 to confirm. Complete rubbish, don’t fall for it!

Got a couple of calls from this number and both times it was some sort of scam. They kept switching their story. Best thing is to just block and forget it. Whatever you do, don’t engage with texts or calls from this one!

Got a call from 01543 630288 with an automated voice about some recent visa and wireless money transfer stuff. They claimed it was for a big amount and asked me to press 1 if I authorised it. Just so you know, I’m in Flintshire, North Wales. Didn’t give them any info, felt fishy.

Got a call about a Western Union money transfer, something over £700, but the message was all jumbled up. Couldn't really catch the whole thing, so I just ended the call!

Got a call saying they wanted to refund money to my Visa card. I just hung up straight away. Always make sure to ask who’s calling, say you’ll ring them back, and don’t give any info over the phone. If they seem legit, get everything in writing. They should already know your address, so never share it yourself. That’s if the person actually sounds real and not a robot!
