Picked up the phone and the person immediately started asking if I could complete some security checks. I said no and asked where exactly they were calling from. All they would say was somewhere in the West Midlands. They kept insisting I couldn’t proceed without passing this "security". I asked several times if they were really in the West Midlands because a quick Google search for "Scottish Power call centre Redditch" showed nothing. They just repeated I had to do the security step and were quite pushy about it. I told them they sounded like a scammer, and then they hung up.

this number has kept calling me over and over. i finally picked up yesterday while i was at a charity’s office where they were helping me sort a billing problem with scottish power - who i’d just spoken to a few mins earlier. the person i talked to, after i said that, just went “oh” and then asked if i could give some info to get into the account! nope, maybe try checking the notes on the account first and stop pestering me. and guess what? they’ve called again today!

Got a call from some company claiming they wanted to discuss my Scottish Power account, but I've never had one with them. Asked to be put through to the accounts department and told them to send a letter instead, which they said they couldn’t. Total waste of time, goodbye!

Got a missed call from 01527 419 014 so I decided to call back. I asked, ‘Who’s this and what do you want?’ The person on the other end, with a bad accent, just said ‘You called me, what do you want then?’ Definitely sounded dodgy, so I told them straight up they’re not welcome. Since then, I’ve been getting loads of calls from different numbers, easily about ten a day. Thankfully, my answering machine picks them all up politely, though it seems like no one there values her manners!

This number is definitely linked to Scottish Power but I wouldn’t put much trust in it. Make sure to check your online account regularly. Try your best to avoid getting into arrears. It’s tough, but having grown up in a rough part of South London in the late 40s and early 50s, I picked up how to manage money and only spend on the absolute essentials. Scottish Power has a pretty poor rep, and if you consider what other energy companies get away with, that says a lot. If you’re not behind on payments, I’d recommend switching your supplier.

01527 419014 What a complete farce, total scam, surely this deserves some serious police attention, must be some dodgy insider selling info or something. Every time I sort my Spanish electricity bill, this number rings me within hours. My voicemail sorts them out normally but last time I called back, the person on the other end was just so weird, super quiet and dodgy, barely said anything clear about why they were calling. The only thing they kept saying was ‘You called me’. Some of the worst, most unprofessional scam callers I’ve ever dealt with.

They keep ringing me first thing in the morning, all day, and then late at night as well - it's driving me nuts! Every time I block one number, they just ring from another. Proper harassment! They say they’re from Scottish Power, but I wouldn’t give them any of my info. I told them since they called me, they should tell me who they think I am and I’ll confirm if it’s me or not. They said they couldn’t because of data protection, so I said the same rules apply to me. They got annoyed and hung up! Then, not long after, they called again from a new number. Madness!

I've had two calls in as many days from a Scottish Power scammer, requesting personal information. I explained that I settle my bills through the app and direct debit, but they insisted on collecting my details like my email. I made it clear that I don't engage with call centres like theirs, and out of the blue, the young lady with a distinct Indian accent abruptly hung up. What's odd is she uses a different name every time, and there's a racket of voices and noise in the background. Just a heads-up for everyone - stay vigilant!

I got a call from a South African bloke in North Yorks claiming to be from Scottish Power. The account was under my wife's name, but since I figured it was a dodgy call, I told him it was my name and my male partner instead. Even though there was nothing to sort out, he still said we could proceed. Pretty fishy if you ask me.
