This number rang me earlier and the person on the other end, who spoke English with an Indian accent, claimed to be from Openreach. Since I had emailed Openreach not long ago, I almost believed it was legit. But then she quickly said my broadband was "corrupted," which sounded suspicious. I'm a software engineer, so I’m pretty sure I’d know if there was a problem.

Realising it was a dodgy call, I said, “Oh, really?” and she snapped back with “Oh shut up!” before abruptly hanging up. Such a weird encounter!

Today, I received a call from this number and a woman with an Indian accent claimed she was from Openreach. Since I had emailed Openreach earlier with a query, I assumed it might be legitimate at first. But within seconds, she said my broadband connection was "corrupt," which sounded completely off to me - I'm a software engineer, so I’d know if there was an issue like that. Realising it was probably a scam, I said “Oh really?” and she snapped back with “Oh shut up!” before abruptly ending the call.
