I got a call from someone claiming to be from BT, saying there was a problem with our internet speed. They told us to install an app that supposedly would help fix it, but it actually gave them full control of our phone. Afterwards, they wanted us to log into our bank accounts. When we said no, they attempted to get into the banks themselves using the app we'd been told to download. They even started snooping through our text messages, which was really scary.
