Got a call from someone saying they were from BT, but after ringing BT myself, turns out it was a dodgy call. The guy, called James Wilcoxsseon or something like that, was pushing fibre optic broadband and wanted me to give out my birthday and email, even tho I’m not the one on the account. Honestly, just hang up if you get a call like that.

Got a call at work from 0151 909 8615, but the moment I picked up, they just hung up. I looked the number up online and decided to call it back. Only thing I got was some automated message from UK Telecommunications. So, I left a voicemail letting them know exactly how I felt about the whole situation!

They provided information about the speeds without asking for any personal details from me. I also verified online that the fiber status has changed from 'not available in my area' to 'cabinet is now enabled.' This confirms that the call was legitimate.

Had someone ring me up with a proper Liverpool twang, saying he was from B.T. He was really dodgy about the whole fibre broadband thing, kept going on about it being mandatory soon but wouldn’t give me clear info on the speeds. Then he said he’d “give me a bell once we’ve worked out what’s best” - bit strange if you ask me!
