Got a ring from 01516016862, they asked for me by my first name. I asked who it was and he said he was with the football pools. I chuckled and said I don’t take part in the pools. Told him to stop calling me and then ended the call.

Got a call saying my account with Virgin Media was overdue and frozen. Had to press 1 to speak to someone to arrange a one-time payment to stop the bailiffs from taking my stuff to cover the debt.

They told me there was a warrant for my arrest over some tax issue. Then wanted me to hit '1'.

Got two calls today from a woman with a recorded message saying there was a £600 charge on my bank Mastercard/Visa. She told me to press 1 to get through to the security team to confirm if I made the payment. The first call said the transaction happened 15 mins ago, and the second call, about 3 hours later, had the same msg. I just left the phone off the hook while she kept talking rubbish and then ended the call.

kept gettin calls from this number from some lady who was chatin about how the football pools firms are all joining up. she kept goin on and on so i just cut the call off. blocked the number now. yesterday i had a like call from another 0151 number, also about football pools.

Sounds like it’s Littlewoods Pools, or maybe some other company they've joined up with, running a classic lottery with numbers from 1 to 49 every day. You need to register for two draws a day costing about £1.50 daily, and they claim there’s a £3 million jackpot weekly. They ask you for six numbers and your bank info, then say they’ll charge £50 each month, which adds up to £600 a year. Honestly, be cautious - if it were legit, you’d expect to see proper TV ads, but there isn’t any at all.

just got another dodgy call from an 0151 number, seems like a total scam again.

Got another random call from this number today. Like always, I picked up and just left the phone down without saying a word. But it didn’t stop the person on the line claiming to be from the “football pools” who was clearly trying to scam me for my private info and bank details, probably some dodgy gambling scam. I stayed quiet for about half a minute until the scammer finally gave up and hung up, probably off to target someone else now.

there's this pools scam tied to some online survey sayin you'll get a £100 supermarket voucher if you finish it, but you never receive anything. they ring you up, promise the voucher again, then go on about how you don't pay unless you win and how amazing their syndicate supposedly is. they say you can't lose! eventually, they ask for your bank info. proper dodgy move, that one.
