I recieved a call from a woman claiming to be with HMRC, telling me there was a legal case against me and that if I didn’t pay an amount today, my bank account would be frozen and police officers would visit my home to look into my finances. She sounded very legit, giving me a case reference and a sort of officer ID number. What really got me was she knew my full address and postcode, which scared me. I told her I needed to consult my solicitor first and then she just cut off.
