Got a call from someone called Dennis or Denise Grey claiming to be from HMRC. They said if either me or my lawyer didn’t ring back in 24 hours to talk about a "serious issue", there'd be some kind of consequences. Tried dialling the number back to have a word with them, but it just wouldn’t connect. Honestly, it’s awful that folks stoop so low just to scare and con others. Proper frustrating! - caller name was Denise Grey?

Got a robocall faking HMRC. Honestly, don’t bother ringing them back. If HMRC genuinely needs to reach you, they’ll either email or a real person will ring you up. This sounds like one of those dodgy last-minute self-assessment scams trying to phish your info. Caller ID was blank.

Got a call just now, same as what others mentioned. It said it was from HMRC but the Liverpool office isn’t where I deal with tax stuff, so definitely felt a bit dodgy. - caller was a robo call pretending to be HMRC.

Got a voicemail from someone pretending to be HMRC. It’s a scam, so don’t ring them back. The number showed up as 01515289515.

I just had a call like that too... I phoned back and some bloke with an Indian accent picked up, telling me HMRC were prosecuting me for dodging taxes! Apparently, I owe £3,095. When I asked why, he only repeated it was for tax evasion!! Then, out of nowhere, he hung up on me! - caller: Bogus HMRC
